Hello everyone!!! I just recently came across bullying statistics in Louisiana and was shocked by the numbers. I'm particularly interested in what the reality of youth violence is in our state. Given that Louisiana is often in the news reports on issues like this, I wondered how serious the problem is. Does anyone have any experience or observations about this? What factors do you think influence this behavior in our area? Any thoughts would be welcome!

Very interesting topic and I'm glad you brought it up. I agree that the factors that influence youth violence are varied. By the way, many of my friends who work in schools have also noted that bullying problems often go hand in hand with a lack of parental support. It's important that teens have the opportunity to talk openly about their experiences. Hopefully, in the future we will see more programs focused on prevention and fewer statistics that are disturbing.
